Prior to training as a therapist Helen worked for a large insurance company as a development manager until taking a career break in 2001 to start her family.
Helen began Therapies at Home and Work in 2008.
Qualifications
Helen attuned to Reiki I in April 2007 practising on family and friends initially. She continued her Reiki journey with Reiki II attunement in June 2008. Helen completed her Diploma in Indian Head Massage in June 2008 and set up Therapies at Home in October 2008.
Continuing development I have completed diplomas in Reflexology in March 2009, Seated Acupressure in January 2010 and Body Massage in February 2010, Maternity and Fertility Reflexology Diploma May 2010, Facial Techniques April 2011, Advanced Massage/Hands Free Diploma April 2011 and Clinical Aromatherapy in June 2011. Additionally Helen holds the following qualifications:- HN Units in Anatomy and Physiology (June 2007); Diploma in Depilation (January 2007); Appointed Persons First Aid Certificate (May 2009); Scottish Mental Health First Aid Certificate (September 2010).
Helping the community
Helen works with Glasgow Association for Mental Health (GAMH) as a Therapist and has worked with a number of corporate clients both on short and long term contracts including working weekly with Ignis Asset Management. Helen volunteered as a therapist at the Marie Curie Hospice in Huntershill throughout 2009 and 2010, helping patients and carers receive relaxation with Complementary Therapies. Helen has worked with other therapists to raise funds for BOBATH, Marie Curie and the Glasgows Womens Mission. Helen has promoted mental health awareness within her local community both at Nursery and Primary level and at Rainbows and Brownies.
Insurance and Membership
Helen is a practitioner member of the Complementary Therapists Association and Embody with insurance provided by Holistic Insurance Services.
Helen is available for short or long-term corporate contracts, one-off workplace pampering, fund-raising events, pamper parties and home visits.
